What a dryer vent inspection actually involves

The inspection starts at the hood, not the dryer. We watch the flap while the dryer runs. No movement means a blockage or a dead booster fan. Then we measure airflow at the exterior termination. Next the dryer gets pulled out and the transition hose comes off. We check the hose for crushing, kinks and old foil. Then a camera goes up the duct. We log total length, every elbow, and the material inside the wall.

Freehold Township runs vary by house type. Splits and ranches usually exit short through the basement rim joist. Second-floor laundry rooms run long through the attic to a roof cap.
